Q: I am really short on time to devote to my workouts. What is the most efficient way to burn calories in the least amount of time and get the best results?

A: The best option is to incorporate “Interval Training”into your schedule. This type of training is not only time efficient, but the best way to burn the largest number of calories in a short period of time to get results faster. Intervals are small periods of intense training, worked into a bit longer periods of ‘rest’ time.

Example~ running
Two minutes at a slow paced jog and 30 seconds sprinting in between. Intervals can be done with running, swimming, biking, lifting weights…just about anything. It is important to remember when training this way that at least two days of rest should be taken before the next ‘Interval training’ session. Also, always be safe while training, drink lots of water and make sure you are taking your rest days in between!
