Volunteer of the Month - July 2010
Stephanie Clouatre –
Stephanie has worked with the HRCA swim teams and swim programs for three years including serving as the Seahawks’ Parent Delegate to the Mountain Hi Swim League (MHSL), representing the team at the league level. Stephanie likes being involved in her kids’ activities, meeting other families in the area, helping the community, and working with the coaches. Our appreciation goes to Stephanie for her dedicated service to the youth of Highlands Ranch!


 Volunteer of the Month - May 2010
Jeremy Anderson – Jeremy has been volunteering with the HRCA for just over one year with the Highlands Ranch Run Series. Running is Jeremy’s passion. He says, “I love to be involved with a running community. Highlands Ranch has such a great running program and support from the community. It is a pleasure to be a part of it!” Jeremy’s favorite event is the Wildcat Half Marathon. His also enjoys the new Backcountry trails. Thank you, Jeremy, for keeping Highlands Ranch on the run!

 

Volunteer of the Month - April 2010
Lee Spieker – Lee began working with the HRCA Triathlon program last summer and currently assists with the unified basketball team. Lee has been a Special Olympics volunteer in Denver, Littleton, and now Highlands Ranch for over 15 years. Lee says, “The athletes inspire me. They compete for the challenge and the pure spirit of the game. It gives me great joy to be a part of their lives and to have them in mine.” Lee has lived in the Denver area for over 30 years, and is originally from South Dakota. Thank you, Lee, for your commitment to the youth of Highlands Ranch!

Volunteer of the Month - March 2010
Kevin Mullen and Paul Murray
– Kevin and Paul have coached HRCA Boys Basketball for several years. They enjoy participating in their own sons’ sports experience, working with youth in the community, and find it rewarding to watch the boys making progress. An added bonus has been the wonderful friendships they’ve built over the years with the kids and their families. In addition to coaching, Paul enjoys participating in the Highlands Ranch Run Series and loves the open space trails. Kevin’s favorite thing about Highlands Ranch is the Daniels Gate open space area and the awesome views. Our thanks to Paul and Kevin for their investment in the youth of Highlands Ranch!

Volunteer of the Month - February 2010
Sheila Byrnes
– For over five years, Sheila has volunteered over 100 hours for a variety of HRCA community and special events. She says that "In The Pink" and the Fourth of July Parade are some of her favorite events. Sheila’s dedication to volunteering comes from her parents who instilled a sense of community responsibility and spirit. Sheila’s favorite places in Highlands Ranch are her home and church. She also enjoys the many walkways and trails. Many thanks to Sheila for her contribution to the Highlands Ranch community!

Volunteer of the Month - January 2010
These outstanding companies have provided services to Highlands Ranch residents by donating their time and effort. Ameritek Painting - Owners Steve & Cindy Shearon feel it is important to give back and are tireless advocates of the community. They have been donating their time and services to community residents since 1997. Douglas Painting - Gary Smith, proprietor, has been active in community affairs for many years. Gary and his crew always find time to give back to our community by donating their time, material, and expertise in assisting homeowners in need.
 

Volunteer of the Month - December 2009
Jerry Reichardt -
If you have attended one of the HRCA's music events you most likely have been in the company of Jerry. A volunteer for nine years, he works many events but his love is music. He and his wife Frances moved to Colorado from Florida where Jerry was in law enforcement. "I feel that retired people should do what they can to assist others either through their church or community". His busy schedule leaves him little time, but home is his favorite place in the Ranch. Thank you, Jerry, for your years of volunteer service!

                                                         
Volunteer of the Month - November 2009
Mike Woodland -
Mike has been a volunteer for the HRCA for 13 years. He has served on the Backcountry Wilderness Trail Patrol and is a District Delegate. Mike says volunteering helps him stay on the leading edge of what is happening in Highlands Ranch. Mike enjoys working out at Southridge in the mornings and mountain biking on the Highlands Point Trail System. Mike grew up in Littleton and has lived in the Ranch for over 20 years. Thank you, Mike! We appreciate all that you do for the community.     
 

Volunteer of the Month - October 2009
Meaghan Burke -
Meaghan volunteers for the HRCA as a girls' volleyball coach. Meaghan enjoys giving back to the community in as many ways as she can. In addition to volunteering for the HRCA/SPAN for the Denver Dumb Friends League, Meaghan enjoys working with kids and animals. Meaghan is a Colorado native, graduated from Douglas County High School, and is a Spanish teacher for grades 4-8 at Platte River Academy in Highlands Ranch. Our appreciation goes to Meaghan for her willingness to serve the community!   
 

Volunteer of the Month - September 2009
Larry Perkins - Larry has been a Delegate for District 9, Officer of the Public Issues Committee, and a Member of the Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Advisory Group. Currently, Larry is an HRCA representative to the Douglas County Art Encounters program. Larry feels that serving the community is time and energy well spent and it brings a sense of belonging and contribution. Larry's favorite events in Highlands Ranch are those involving the arts. Thank you for your dedicated service, Larry!
 

Volunteer of the Month - August 2009
Laurie Atkinson -
Laurie has been a hard working volunteer for the Community Relations Department for over five years. Whether she is stuffing eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt or taking tickets at cultural events, Laurie is an invaluable "Ranch Hand". When asked why she volunteers, Laurie replied, "I think it's very important to give back and get involved wherever and whenever possible. The people are wonderful and it's really quite fun". Congratulations Laurie and thank you for being an outstanding Ranch Hand! 
 

Volunteer of the Month - July 2009
Stephanie Gretzema -
Stephanie has volunteered for the HRCA since 2008 on the Backcountry Trail Patrol and was just nominated to serve on the HRCA Public Issues Committee. Stephanie enjoys living in Highlands Ranch and likes giving back to a community that has so much to offer. Stephanie enjoys playing with her kids at our many great parks and recreation centers. Her favorite place in Highlands Ranch is the Backcountry Trails. Thank you, Stephanie, for giving back to your community!
 

Volunteer of the Month - June 2009
Sara Hendren - Sara has volunteered for seven years as the equipment coordinator for both the Mountain Hi Swim League (MHSL) and the Colorado Association of Recreational Athletics (CARA) swim teams. Sara says, "Without the many parent volunteers, the HRCA swim teams would not be possible. I sincerely appreciate the countless hours the swim team coaches devote to the swimmers and the positive impact they have on their swimming ability and their lives". Thank you, Sara, for your dedication!

 
Volunteer of the Month - May 2009
Robin McGillick -
has volunteered for the past three years in various capacities such as Father/Daughter Sweetheart Ball, Ballet recitals, and Preschool classes. She loves helping people and being a part of the community. She has lived in Highlands Ranch for eight years with her parents and four siblings. Robin is a senior at Highlands Ranch High School. Her favorite place in the Ranch is the Mansion. She loves the history and beauty of the Mansion and the fact that it existed long before anything else in Highlands Ranch. Thank you Robin, for helping keep Highlands Ranch a great place!


Volunteer of the Month - April 2009
Bill Hayes -
Bill is the HRCA's first Volunteer of the Month. Bill has volunteered for the two years as Chairman of the Architectural Review Committee. He has lived in the Ranch since 1994 and takes pride in being part of this community. He grew up and attended college in Nebraska. He is a co-owner/partner of a company in the construction industry. He enjoys attending the Summer Concert Series and visiting the Farmers' Market. Thank you, Bill, for your hard work and dedication to Highlands Ranch!
