Senior Drop-in Fitness

Senior Fitness

The Drop-In Program inspires senior fitness with fun, safe and innovative instruction. Certified instructors who understand the needs of seniors teach a variety of classes, including:

Senior Fitness (emphasizes flexibility, range of motion and strength)

Mind/Body classes (i.e. Yoga, Pilates, and PIYO)

Senior Cardio Line Dancing

Aqua Motion (gentle physical exercise in warmer water)

Senior Tennis

 


NEW! Gentle Yoga for Function and Mobility
Gently stretch and strengthen the muscles to increase range of motion, reduce stress, and increase relaxation. Wheelchair accessible and all levels of mobility welcome. Advanced registration and fitness waiver are required. Class is on Tuesdays, 6:45-7:45 p.m. at the Recreation Center at Westridge, Hawk room.


Water Fitness Classes are now included in the Drop-In Fitness Program!!*
HRCA Drop-In Fitness program includes group fitness, mind-body, indoor cycling, and SeniorFit classes. The entire program is designed to promote health and fitness for all ability levels to enjoy. All participants as young as age 13 to the active older adult may attend any class listed on our Drop-In Fitness, Mind-Body, Indoor Cycling, and SeniorFit Schedule.

Water Fitness Classes
Aquatic Fitness serves as a great addition to any fitness regime. It offers a workout that is less stressful on the joints, while burning calories in a shorter time period due to the resistance of the water.

Classes at Recreation Center at Westridge:

Deep Aqua Intensity
Deep, cool water class for all abilities that will strengthen the heart and tone muscles. A low impact class; great for the core.

Classes at Recreation Center at Eastridge:

Aqua Intensity
A high-energy workout using equipment to develop coordination and strengthen abdominal muscles. Deep-water workouts are an integral part of this program.

Classes at Recreation Center at Southridge:

Just Add Water
This intermediate to intense workout in chest-deep water focuses on strengthening and toning arms and abdominal muscles.

Aqua Bubbles
This beginner class focuses on improving muscle control, flexibility and coordination. It includes cardio, Pilates and yoga exercises.

Swimnastics
This comprehensive program in chest-deep water was designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, increase fat burning, enhance flexibility, and tone abdominal muscles.

Aqua Fit and Flex
This fun, power-packed workout is designed to promote overall fitness, cardio conditioning, core stabilization, resistance training and full-body toning utilizing both shallow water and the current channel.
Seniors are welcome to participate in over 300 monthly drop-in classes at reduced rates.You may also ask for a Senior Drop-In Program monthly schedule at any one of the four recreation centers or download here:
