2010 Season Close

The archery range will close for the season October 31.

Archery Range

HRCA's New Archery Range includes:

8 Stations

  • one at 10 yards, one at 20 yards, two at 30 yards, two at 40 yards, one at 50 yards, and one at 60 yards

Location

  • Wildcat Mountain Trail System (11950 South Monarch Blvd, 80130, approximately two miles south of Rock Canyon H.S. on Monarch Blvd.)

Cost

  • Highlands Ranch Community Association Member: $4/Day, $35/Season, or $55/Season/Family
  • Non-Member: $6/Day, $55/Season, or $75/Season/Family
  • Day passes can be purchased through Online Registration or at any HRCA Recreation Center. Season passes must be purchased in person at any HRCA Recreation Center as a photo is required. Receipt or season pass must be on your person while shooting. Violators will be fined and/or ticketed for trespassing.

Archery Range Rules

Fees and Hours

  • All range participants must pay daily or seasonal fee before shooting; violators will be fined and or ticketed for trespassing.
  • Range is open sunrise to sunset
  • Range is open seasonally, June 1st through October 31st.

Safety

  • Do not knock arrow until all persons are behind the shooting line.
  • Shoot only from designated positions.
  • Shoot only toward designated targets.
  • Do not move toward target until all archers have finished shooting.
  • Bows may only be drawn down range toward the targets.
  • Always be sure of your target and what is beyond.
  • If there are vehicles, livestock, people, or wildlife behind the targets, you may not shoot until the background is clear.
  • Do not shoot toward or harass wildlife.
  • Treat a bow and arrow with as much respect as a firearm. No horse play.
  • ALL SHOOTING IS TO BE INTO BALES AND SAFETY BACKSTOPS ONLY.
  • If you are searching for a lost arrow behind a target, always leave your bow visible, against the target face so that it will be seen by other archers coming up and at other stations. If possible, have one archer from your group stand in front of the target to prevent anyone from shooting.

 General

  • Field tips only. No broadheads or expandable heads permitted on the range.
  • Personal targets must be placed on or in front of provided backstops.
  • Children under 16 years of age must be supervised by an adult.
  • All participants must remain within designated boundary area of the archery range at all times.
  • No access to hiking trails from Archery Range
  • Be considerate of other shooters. Practice good sportsmanship and use common sense.
  • Do not remove or move backstops.
  • Firearms, paintball guns, and all other projectiles are prohibited.
  • No Dogs.
  • No smoking.
  • Pick up, clean up, and properly dispose of your used targets.
  • Alcoholic beverages and drugs may not be consumed prior to or during shooting on the archery ranges.
  • All Backcountry Wilderness Area rules and regulations apply to the archery range.
  • Any violation of these rules or dangerous behavior will result in immediate disciplinary action including but not limited to: removal from the property, loss of daily or seasonal pass, and or criminal prosecution.
  • Participant assumes all risk related to use or observation in archery range.
  • ALL RANGE USERS AND SHOOTERS ARE PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR RANGE SAFETY AND SAFE SHOOTING.
