Backcountry Volunteers

Volunteering has never been so easy!

Get in shape, volunteer in your community, enjoy the outdoors, and spend more time with your family. Become a Backcountry Trail Patrol Volunteer.

Trail Patrol Volunteers are incredibly important to the HRCA and our efforts to protect the Backcountry. Now with over 11 miles of trails, volunteers are even more important and helpful. Our Trail Patrol Volunteers go out on the trails on their own schedule, and talk to trail users, educate trail users on the rules and regulations and more importantly WHY we have those rules in place. The Backcountry is incredibly rich and diverse in wildlife, native plants, and wild flowers, our volunteers help protect these tremendous resources to ensure our impact is minimal.

One of our goals is to make it very easy to become a volunteer and to be active. Call or email us for dates and times for training sessions. We'll arrange them around your schedule. The training is a one hour classroom session. Once trained, head out on the trails whenever you want and simply complete an on-line log form after each outing.
