World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF) Tae Kwon Do – Official Olympic Sport
Developed from a culmination of over 2000 years of fighting and self-defense styles, Taekwondo has become the world’s most popular Martial Art of its kind. Taekwondo offers, fitness, flexibility, self discipline, character development, and life skills to its students. Under the direction of Master J.W.Kim, an internationally-certified 6th degree black belt, instructors Matt Cottingham (with over 20 years of experience) and James Chott (24 years of experience) are the instructors for this fun and exciting program. Students will learn Taekwondo techniques such as movement patterns, blocking, punching, ,kicking, board breaking, self-defense, and sparring.

Family Tae Kwon Do (Ages 4 - Adult) Parents attend for free with a paid participating child
Family Tae Kwon Do allows families with members’ ages four - adult learn the basic techniques of this self defense style. No uniforms are required; this class is an introduction to the group class environment.
Pee Wee Tae Kwon Do – Ages 4 to 6
Pee Wee Tae Kwon Do is intended to teach children coordination, balance, discipline and respect for this martial art. Basic kicks, punches, blocks, and movement patterns are introduced and built upon as children progress in belt color. Uniforms are available for purchase at the Southridge recreation Pro Shop; however, if your child is new to Martial Arts, consider giving your child a few sessions to see if he/she will adapt to the classes before purchasing the uniform.
Youth Tae Kwon Do (Ages 7 to 13)
Progression through the belts in Youth Tae Kwon Do takes place through learning movement patterns, blocking, punching and kicking drills, and self-defense strategies. Students also begin to learn and practice sparring skills in a safe and controlled environment. Youth Tae Kwon Do will increase strength, character development, and life skills.
