Tuesday, October 11 - Vocal Inspirations
Instrumentalists all strive to imitate the vast expressiveness only the human voice can exhibit. In this concert, we explore how it can seamlessly join and inspire the string quartet, with vocalist Kali Paguirigan. We will present works of Caroline Shaw and Bjork with the vocal element added, and show later in the program how composer Franz Schubert uses his own vocal lieder to create the string quartet masterpiece known as “Death and the Maiden”.
