Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson is the chef and co-founder of Frasca Hospitality Group, which includes Frasca Food and Wine and Pizzeria Locale in Boulder, and Tavernetta and the newly opened Sunday Vinyl in Denver.
Mackinnon-Patterson has earned several awards for his cooking, including: Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs 2005; James Beard Foundation Award’s Best Chef: Southwest, 2008; and a season competing on BRAVO’s Top Chef Masters. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, Frasca Food and Wine was nominated for the James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Wine Service in America, winning the prestigious award in 2013. In 2019, Frasca Food and Wine won the James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Service.
In partnership with Chipotle Mexican Grill, Mackinnon-Patterson and business partner Bobby Stuckey operate the the QSR branded Pizzeria Locale in Denver with a simplified menu and a revolutionary custom-designed oven. Today, there are four fast-fine locations of Pizzeria Locale Denver with a fourth scheduled to open spring 2020.
Mackinnon-Patterson also owns Scarpetta Wines, which he started in 2007 with business partner and Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey. Since then, Scarpetta Wines has expanded, and now Stuckey and Mackinnon-Patterson make seven varietals, distributed in over 45 states plus Canada, Caribbean,UK and Mexico.
Additionally now an author of the newly released Friuli Food and Wine. The first book written on the north eastern area of Friuli in 2 decades.
