The Backcountry Wilderness Area’s mission is to improve wildlife habitat, inspire the next generation of environmental stewards, and ignite a lifelong love of the outdoors for all. Camp Backcountry offers a variety of programs, all of which provide a balance of hands-on science, field-based exploration, team building, adventure, and traditional camp fun.
Located at 5,920 feet in the heart of the Front Range, our 8,200-acre campus—featuring an outdoor amphitheater, outdoor “classrooms,” a free play area with natural playscapes, archery range, horse corrals, and barnyard critters—serves as the ultimate learning environment.
Joining the Camp Backcountry team means becoming a part of a community of enthusiastic, hardworking, and creative individuals who come together with a mutual love for the outdoors and a common goal to inspire the next generation.
Camp Backcountry counselor positions are competitive. All Camp Backcountry counselors undergo a background check, complete a week-long in-the-field training, and are certified in First Aid and CPR.
We’re looking for great people to join our Camp Backcountry team. If you are passionate about making a difference and having fun while doing it, apply for one of our open camp positions!
